The flourescent tube light in my kitchen is flickering badly so I think it's on the way out. Other than buying new ones does anyone know if there is a way to tell if it's the tube or motor that needs replacing?
Many thanks

I think if it's flickering, it's probably the starter.0

90% certain it's the starter (the little plastic jobby that fits into the side - normally). Less than 50p from B&Q?If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0

Woouldn't hurt having a couple of spares anyway..0

Hi,
Starter is cheaper than a tube, so, try the starter first.
It is a little white tube that sticks out, it is bayonet fot like a light bulb.

Thanks for your info guys, I'll get a couple or starters & go from there. My mum thought there was a way of checking which needed replacing before buying anything but she can't remember what it is. But you are right, the starters are so cheap I won't have lost much if it isn't that.
Thanks again.0
