The bowl of my Kenwood is stuck fast in the machine. Can anyone tell me which way the thread in the base goes so I know I'm turning the bowl the right way, otherwise I'm just going to be turning it tighter into the machine. Never happened before so I hope I can get the thing out with damaging it. It's a stainless steel bowl. Any help appreciated, thanks.

If you turn the bowl clockwise, then this is the way mine comes out of the base. Hope you can get it out. Can you get a big beefy person to hold the base firm for you, as you twist the bowl?0

My two boys have been holding onto the machine while I've been trying to twist the bowl out of the machine but it won't budge at all. I'll keep trying and hopefully it'll come out. At least I've been twisting it the right way.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0

As I look at mine with the bowl on the left, I would turn anti-clockwise to remove it from the base.:wave:0

what material is the bowl - maybe if you put some ice in the bowl &/or warm the metal base on a radiator or something it may help release it. Or maybe knock the handley pouring lips (?) bits in the direction you need to turn? How old is your machine BTW ? it may vary by model...I THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I KnowSupermarket Rebel No 19:T0

I only bought it last year, it's a KM310, stainless steel bowl. Not too keen on hitting it with anything in case I dent the bowl. I'll try putting boiling water into the bowl and then pouring it away and see if it will loosen it a bit. I can't believe I'm still wrestling with the thing. Thanks for all the hint's and tips, appreciate it. :-)“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0

The boiling water in the bowl did the trick. Facing the back of the machine, you turn the bowl clockwise to release it. Was doing that but the hot water in the bowl fixed it. Thanks everyone. Glad you got it sorted - a little olive oil may stop it happening again...I THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I KnowSupermarket Rebel No 19:T0

WD 40 is not food safe.
It's a mineral oil.
Food safe oils and greases are very expensive and hard to source in non production industry quantities.
I use bog standard cooking oil where needed and, because it does oxidise and smell "off" after time - just clean it off and re-do.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
