Aha yes it is, thanks very much. Have googled him and he appears to have hacked pretty much every forum on the web today.

Just the website that's involved. Hackers usually only leave "calling cards" that the OP described when hacking websites. With individual pcs where they're trying to get your info they don't want to announce themselves and give away that the pc's been compromised. I thought it unlikely there'd be anything untoward with the OP's pc but they took the right precautions (just in case) when faced with not being sure. And to be honest it's not a bad idea to frequently and regularly scan your pc anyway to ensure it's "clean".

Thanks everyone, looks like this guy is quite a prolific hacker just now. I do scan every day which is why I was so confused by someone gaining access. thanks again everyone.
