credit/debit Card with money (US Dollars) on it.

I have hunted through the forums and Im no doubt looking in the wrong place  but there are sooooo many places to look  for the information I need.

I want to take advantage of the exchange rate and want to take a card to the USA with Dollars already on it.

I have had a look at the credit cards listed on this site that are good to take abroad, but cant find any info on how to put dollars on them .

Or am I making work for myself - just get a card and forget about the exchange rate as the charges will cancell any benefit?
thanks in anticipation of relevant advice ;)

  • Take out a Nationwide or Post Office credit card.
I believe that they do not surcharge for using the card abroad.

You do not have to put money on the card just work out how much stuff will cost at around $1.90 to the pound ( or round it up in your head to 2 in the £)

There are money transfer cards (or pre paid cards) available but again I think you can only preload in sterling.
