Hoverspeed Bank holiday nightmare

Just to warn anyone booked with Hoverspeed this summer. DO NOT BE LATE to check in. On bank hol Monday in May we arrived 10 minutes after check in time (along with about 12 other vehicles) only to find out they had sold our places on to other people. Even more annoying we had tried to phone Hoverspeed at 6.30pm to find out what our options were if we arrived late - traffic on M25 had been at a stand still - ater 6pm they do not man the phones. They did not help get us on any ferry and left us at 11pm at night with two young kids to try and sort ourselves out. Their acting MD apparently told the staff to escort us from the terminal building if we would not leave!
Incredibly bad customer service - do not travel with them if you have a choice.

DO NOT BE LATE
But then it turned into a rant against Hoverspeed. You were late. Accidental or otherwise, how in the world can that be Hoverspeed's fault?!0 -
I agree with stonk.
I realise you ended up in a bad situation and I think Hoverspeed could have been a little more sympathetic, but if companies like this ran their business catering for latecomers then what would be the point in having timetables at all? It would be a shambles imo.
Everyone knows that travelling involves timetables and deadlines, to expect to somehow have things held up because you are late (for whatever reason) is not being realistic.Herman - MP for all!0 -

Does anybody ever leave time for 'two punctures' these days? - I have experienced this after getting a puncture, jacking the car up replacing the tyre and then lowering the car down onto the nail that had punctured the original tyre (it had fallen out) ... somedays life just throws you a curved ball
IvanI don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0
