Disclose Valuation/Survey to EA??

Options
I have recently had a valuation carried out on the property on behalf of the lender and have since arranged for my own home buyers survey.

The EA have now asked for a copy of the valuation. Is this something I have to disclose??

Many thanks from a confused FTB??!!

Why are they asking to see the valuation?

If you are asking to re-negotiate the price or asking the seller to do work because of something disclosed in the survey, then probably the only way they will believe you is to see the valuation. If you are happy to proceed at the agreed price then, it is none of their business!

The EA only wants to see the valuation if there is something wrong with the property??!!

A slight bit of damp came up on the valuation however this has never been disclosed to the vendor/EA. The survey is due to take place next week and this will give me a much idea of what else is wrong with the house. If I have not re-negotiated a price then am I within my rights to withold this information???

Surely of course I will disclose all the necessay information if and when I do intend to re-negotiate on the price should the damp be of a serious nature. Or would you just disclose the valuation now showing the issues of damp??

Its your survey, you show it to who you want. I'm an EA and the only time we ask to see a survey is if a situation like ragdoll stated, occurs and someone is trying to renegotiate due to an issue with the survey.
  • You have no obligation at all to disclose the valuation but if you want to renegotiate then they may not take you seriously unless you show them at least relevant bits of a survey/valuation.
