One Bill

Anyone any ideas on this???

Not sure if I have posted this in the correct place... but what the hell...

Basically its a system that pays all your bills for you, you just send them a weekly/monthly payment to cover the cost.

This in principle sounds like a great idea, especially for people like me that are shockingly bad at budgeting for everything.

Just wondering what the boards think about this and if there are any glaringly obvious drawbacks I have missed.

Cheers
Irn Bru

There have been earlier threads. But mainly, I remember, from people concerned that relatives were using this (despite the relatives were allegedly happy with the service). Haven't actually stumbled across one, where the original poster was giving an unequivocal thumbs up.

The drawback is the obvious one that's it's a service .. so you pay a (smallish) fee for it. And you need to fund your account in advance and there's a surcharge if they have to pay any accounts that you haven't, at that point, funded for.

Best way I'm afraid ... is to resolve to do better with your own budgeting and dig your way back to the surface!

Yeah, pretty much as I expected... Thanks alot to you and Grace
  • And you'll paying them in advance, so you lose any interest that would have been earned, if you left the money in your account and had the payment debited directly to that account.
    Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac ;)

To be honest it was the mistakes they kept making that really put me off..they would take the Direct Debit from my account and then not be able to find it...for sometimes 5/6 days by which time I was getting charges for late payment....and the fiasco over the Council tax was the last straw...the the lady at the Council Tax office said they always mess the payments up.....
