Do you mean a Fork Lift? If so then you need a licence to use one and I imagine if you hire one it would come with a driver...

yes . i havent got a licence so it would have to come with driver, so i am panicking about the price.....also trying to see if the items can come down on a lorry with a tail lift, and see if i can get hold of one of those pallet jacks, or whjat ever they are called...lol...

problem is i have taken on a big job, which to be honest is a bit to big for me, but my motto is to NEVER refuse work...lol...

If you're on an industrial estate then go to one of your "neighbours", speak to the warehouse manager/fork lift driver and offer a few quid cash for a few minutes work

BTW you don't need a licence to use one, but it might be a bit dangerous if you have no past experience!

the only company that had a folk lift went belly up before christmas....so the license thing is basiclly for health and safety reasons ?

hubby have said if worst comes to worst we wil mannually take items off lorry....lol... might take a bit longer,, will be great for the exercise....( and my profits)

  • If the lorry is able to tip, perhaps you could use this and save a few quid. Now that would be maney saving!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

What about seeing if you could get them delivered on a truck with a rear mounted forklift? You might have to pay more/wait longer or use a different haulage company though

If you can't get a fork lift truck but it would be possible to offload manually, I am sure you can get manual trolleys with fork lifts on the front, and you might want to investigate that from the point of view of (your) health and safety ...

someone on this thread has a hubby who trains FLT drivers, they are nowhere near Swansea but might be worth a PM? They might know someone who knows someone ... She's just posted a question about small business vans.
