The financial benefits to the country far out weigh the the costs.. Yes off course Londoners should foot the bulk of the bill for they will be the ones who benefit by probbaly 90% !
Got enough money london, perhaps it should be located a little bit further north ??

We live in Kent and our house is going on the market soon - we're really hopeful that a lot of people will think this way and choose a cheaper place in the country!0 -
I live in Dorset. The sailingevents are going to be held in Weymouth/Portland. Already here articles in the Dorset paper are saying what a great boost to the local economy it will be,and how much property will increase.PF.0

Does anywhere else in the UK have 4 major international airports, a train link to 2 other capital cities and a local transport infrastructure capable of supporting millions of visitors? Let's face it, London was the only option for the UK.deemy2004 wrote:perhaps it should be located a little bit further north ??
That said, some events will be staged elsewhere around the country0 -
I'm very happy we have the Olympics and think it will be great for the country. I do however have scepticism about the funding. They will put London Council Tax up a lot, which I also think is fine (I live in Greater London). But does anyone around here think they will bring the Council tax down after the expenses have been covered and the country is reaping the rewards????
No, I thought not, that is the going to be the only let-down IMO.0 -
