Dell laptop £374 with 3gbyte memory (and XP!)

Happened to spot this one and thought it quite a bargain.

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T5270 (1.40 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)
15.4" Wide Screen WXGA (1280 x 800)
3072MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (1x1024 + 1x2048 MB)
160GB SATA
DVD+/-RW Drive
option of free 'upgrade' to XP Pro.

£374 inc VAT and delivery.
should be a quick computer with XP on it.

Again, sorry for the affiliate code in the middle but it seems to be part of the deal.

    Thanks for this!
Been looking for a new laptop for work, and wanted 2GB of RAM for under £500, but not many options!
3GB Ram, and 3Yrs warranty with the Truelife screen for £427 + VAT and Shipping!

    Thanks!

I agree I took Vista off my 2gb dual core Dell and put XP back on and not only runs smoother but the battery runs muhc longer about by 45 mins as the cpu isn't running much on idle in XP about 2% compared with 8-10% on Vista idle

  • at £316 deld the Vostro 1000 is faster but with 120GB disk and 2GB ram. (select the £269 onefor the Amd TL60)
The Amd TL60 is slower than the Core 2 Duo 1.8 but beats the 1.4 by a good margin.

£376 deld with 3 years support.

Of course with XP the 3GB ram simply gives less battery life.

Dont forget quidco for that extra 5%

It depends what you're doing with it. It will increase performance with memory-hungry apps. But if you're just surfing the web and writing the odd email and document... you should be using an Eee anyway. ;)

That's because Vista is constantly snooping on you to see if you're trying to pirate something.
