Just found this offer at Argos. Worx Jigsaw 550W £13.33, reduced from £39.99.

Before anyone goes on about R.R.P being a con, e.t.c, I was looking at it whilst it was on offer for £29.99. I decided to reserve it at my local Argos and as I did so the price dropped, in the shopping cart, to £13.33.

If you are unsure of Worx power tools, all I can say is that I have other Worx power tools and have found them to be pretty solid.

I bought this when it was last posted on MSE for about £20 I think, and can say it is well worth it.

Decent quality, blades provided, great box it comes in, pendulum motion.

Edited, as I think the one I got is slightly different - mine has about 15 blades and an LED light when cutting, but it looks much like this one, so I can recommend it.

I can't BELIEVE this! I was actually looking for a jigsaw today - I have only a small job to do, so not worth a big investment. I'd been in Woolies earlier to look at the the really cheap and nasty ones for about £9.99. No thanks!

Anyway, I then looked online at Argos - my search on the Argos site only showed the 650w model; nothing about the offer on the 550w one. As I searched for more info on the Worx brand, I found your post via Google. Couldn't believe that my local branch actually had one in stock - a quick online reservation and 10 minutes later I had it in my hands! This sort of thing never happens to me - it must be a fortuitous planetary alignment...

If anyone else is thinking of getting one it's more than worth the money. Nice sturdy cast sole plate, selection of five blades, 6 speed variable control, guide fence attachment, surprisingly sturdy feel all round. I haven't actually cut anything yet, but I may have a go on some of my landlord's furniture a bit later. [It's OK he's asked me to get rid of some of it!]

Managed to reserve the jigsaw and circular saw and picked them up from my local Argos last night....

The OP put up an alert that there was an offer on a jigsaw.. on investigating I noticed that there was also an offer on a circular saw. Had they not mentioned the former, I would not have noticed the latter....
