Plumbing washer into garage

Options
Do i just need a cold water tap to be able to do this? Looking to buy a new house but our washer is sooo noisy & would rather it was in the garage then I can splash out on a dishwasher! So what would I need to be able to have it plumbed into the garage? Also how easy (or how much of a pain in the ar5e) would it be to have a boiler moved from a kitchen into a garage? I'm guessing its not a coimbi as there is a big tank in a cupboard.

Thanks

most new/ish washers are cold fill only. so you only need a cold supply.
    check yours first.
you will need a drainage exit too.

re the boiler. a good time to change to a new combi?
allow at least 1500 quid to install a new boiler.
    Get some gorm.
  • Hi,
You'd need to connect a waste up as well (obviously) to use your washer, which could be simple if it's near a drain.

Not sure on the boiler front, I think most plumbers would want to install a new boiler rather than just move the existing (might be a reg about that, not 100% sure)

Thanks. I should have said replaced about the boiler as thats what I meant because we could do with the space in the cupboard where the tank was. a combi boiler installed would mean that the old tank would get removed doesn't it?

yes. combis are brilliant in that way cause all the tanks and associated pipework is redundant.
downside is that it take yrs to fill the bath.

    ps.
my gasbill is down 30% now.
    Get some gorm.

Hi Moomi - we're just in the process of doing this bit in www.theupsidedownhouse.9f.com & I needed to big deep enough to put both hot n cold to the garage, so we'd have benefit of both to make a sort of utility area.

Also, guess you've electricity already in there? We put everything through a piece of plastic soil pipe, with insulation inside, below the ground - the awkard bit was getting below the gargae footings!!

Our boiler will be in a cupbord of it's own for extra protection, but it isn't a rule that it must have!

& are you putting the tumble dryewr therte, too. we are, but don't forget which way the vent goes.

    & dishwasher - Mrs v ordered a Baumatic BDW13 today - prices range £400ish - £230ish!! for it!!
