yes its you I have to thank for getting through. I was awake at 5 (but the 3 children were asleep) so I tried then. Was told to ring back at 8 but my youngest needed feeding so I only got to ring at 8.20. Told them I was told to ring at 8, a lovely guy understood my predicament about trying to hold a conversation whilst WW3 raged (aka 3 chlildren under 4) and went through most of it with me. Then at 9 a Mortgage consultant rang back, and we were done in about 15 mins:T

Glad to help. My son phoned on Saturday and was told to try at 8am. When he phoned they were just going to take his details again but he said he had been told to phone at that time and should be able to speak to someone. Fortunately they then put him through to someone.

So if you do phone say you were told to phone at that time.

which product did you go for in the end MrsM?

We've gone for the 10 yr fixed. Being a SAHM I like the long term security and all being well we should be able to pay it off by the end of the term
  • To be honest, I've not fully grasped offset mortgages! I'm not thick!

We'll see what they do then. My son put in a covering letter saying that he had been advised to include the valuation and not fill out the valuation form.

I've been told by the firm I am using to produce a homebuyers report that they can re-do it in the format required by the lenders at a cost of £100.

The Chartered Surveyors who did the survey have said that their valuation is accpeted by all the major lenders. It does say that it is a mortgage valuation. Hopefully FD will accept it as is but we'll just need to wait and see.
