I want a QUALITY clothes airer

I'm fed up buying £15-£20 clothes airers for them to break.

In the winter I dry all my clothes indoors on them & they just can't take the weight, they are only meant for light stuff or very occassional use.

This one colapsed on Sunday http://www.robertdyas.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=311&storeId=91&productId=22754&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=10429&parents_parent_category_rn=10424&top_category_rn=10351&showSubCategory=yes&top=Y&cache_entry=-1

Can anyone recommend a really good quality one. It will be cheaper than buying new ones all the time.

there is one from Lakeland thats about £45 we were recommended. Still standing so far after a fair bit of use this winter. Certainly a lot chunkier than our previous ones and that seems to be helping a lot

Minky is a very reputable make in the household product range and their products should meet your needs.
I would advise your first call would be to their consumer helpline, which can be found on this link.

You never know they may replace your current one, or certainly recommend a model to suit your needs.

The old fashioned ones that go up to the ceiling are wonderful. One of the best things I ever bought. Molly maid I think the make was. Dry all my washing on it. Dries fast and holds stacks of stuff!
MTC NMP Membership #62 - made it back to size 12 after my children & I'm staying here!
  • We have just bought a minky one in our house that is proving to be a great design and really sturdy (Minky Tourmatic). So far, I've managed to get a full three loads of washing on it, much better than my old rubbish ones. If you go to ebay and take a look at the listing 140074341683 you will see the design. I can recommend the seller too. I ordered one and it arrived the next day, excellent service.

It is also available from the following:

Its actually my second one of them.

You can tell from the weight & build its not going to last.

I would rather pay £40 or even £60 for a good one than keep paying out £20 on cheapies.

Silly as it sounds I couldn't find an expensive one.
The lakeland one may be good.

I saw that on the Argos website.

But it looked a bit different from a "normal" one, an odd shape so I wondered if it was any good to use.

I will look at that one again & the Lakeland one, thank you.

I like one I can put away, if I had a garage I would have something like that.

'fraid there's only one for me - I bought mine after seeing how sturdy it was, and how much washing it took. Brilliant

Thank you but I want tall and skinny.

I think lakeland or that other tall one is the way to go.

The Lakeland one is brilliant - it IS expensive but it's incredibly sturdy (and Lakeland have brilliant customer service should you be unhappy). I bought one to take to uni nearly four years ago now, and it's still going strong. It's been moved about, used on an almost daily basis, shoved under beds and in cupboards, moved inside and outside and it's still almost as good as new. It'll also take a super king size duvet cover spread over it, and I can get about three good loads of washing on it.
