new bathroom - too fussy?

Options
Just had my bathroom done...bit of a hiccup and rather than being done and dusted before Christmas (started first week in Dec), the entire suite was removed, the plumber's mate did a disappearing act and plumber had a holiday scheduled, which meant it wasn't finished until second week of Jan and I had no bathroom over Christmas. (Had to make do with downstairs loo!)

But done now and looks stunning. BUT!

There is a slight crack on the toilet cistern which I told plumber about on the phone. He said he would come and put silicone on it to stop it getting bigger. It is hardly noticeable but the suite is brand new. An unqualified mate thinks that the flush button was screwed too tightly hence the crack.

After having a bath the water doesn't drain properly because the bath appears to be tilted away from the plug hole. I don't know if this is a major or minor issue?

Bit of a quandary particularly as I may have to sell soon. I might be happy to put up with less than perfect but new people might not be.

Don't know what to do?! Good job done at a great price so maybe being too picky?

Neither sound like minor problems to me. Getting the level right in a bath is a very basic matter - the water has to run away! The cracked cistern might end up leaking.

I wish you luck trying to put it right - our recent experience with plumbers was not good and after five appointments were made (after many more phone calls) for them to finish the job and still no sign of them, we gave up.

    Have you paid them????

If not then don't untill you are happy with the job

if yes then send them a letter registerd post explaining the problems with your new suite and when is he going to come and rectify it. As a profesional he is legally obliged guarntee his work for a certain amount of time..If he does not answer or keeps putting it of phone your local trading standards office and expalain to them the problem...going ont his course can be vary time consuming.

Personally i Would keep phoning him twice an hour every day untill he comes and sorts it
