If I had £10,000.00 to save is it better in a mini ISA for tax free savings or in a Barclays savings builder account

You can put just £3000 of it in a mini cash ISA in the current tax year. The remainder would be ok to put in a high interest account like the ICICI Bank Hi-Save account. Or, you could consider a yearly bond with Northern Rock who will pay a fixed rate of 6.9% at the moment.0

Forget Barclays, They pay poor rates of Interest on your savings.
