Hi,
i have to return a faulty item to a seller, and as I've never done it before thought I'd check out what I'm supposed to do.
Seller wants me to return the item (at a cost to me of £15, is that right?) and when they have the item back they will contact me for my card details and refund the payment.
also do i have to do anything on eBay or paypal to let them know the item is being returned?
Hope someone can help.
Thanks, Michelle.

sellers aren't obliged to pay your return costs, but most good sellers will refund them if they are at fault - eg sent faulty or wrong item
if you paid by paypal the seller doesn't need your card details to refund you, they just need to refund your payment via paypal.0 -
the seller only needs to replace the funds using the email address you used to pay him via paypal. send the item back registered post so you know he has signed for it.
i had a damaged item and sent it back to my cost in terms of carriage. so infact i paid for postage twice, which was £20 all in all for an item of £100 so i lost £20 but got a refund. if you take out a dispute on paypal i thinks you get all of the cost back including the original postage but not the return postage cost. All the big powers they've silenced me. Ok, thanks. So should i email her back and ask her to refund via paypal if thats ok?
I thought it a bit odd she wanted my card details.0 -
dont give anyone your card details. they DO NOT NEED THEM they have your email address to use for paypal, inform them of that, tell them you are sending it back registered post. once they get it hopefully you get paid. if not take out a dispute with paypal, you have tracking number for postage and email they gave you saying they will refund. All the big powers they've silenced me. i have just read this on the watchdog website,
These laws still apply to online sites as long as they're based in the UK. So check first if the trader is based in the UK. For example, '.co.uk', for example, doesn't necessarily mean a UK address and '.com' is used by traders in the UK as well as in the US.
If you run into problems with something you buy from a UK site, telephone its customer services and confirm your complaint by letter or email. Keep a note of who you talk to and copies of letters sent. If you have to send anything back, remember to charge them the postage or ask them to come and collect it. If this doesn't resolve your complaint, use the small claims track in the county court. Leaflets explaining the court procedure can be obtained from your county court office and your local Citizens Advice Bureau. To find your local CAB look at www.citizensadvice.org.uk.
I have just paid £18.99 to get an extremely dangerous pushchair sent back to the seller, the seller is charging me for sending back is this ok? according to this report i should be recharging or should i just cut my loses, re this pushchair please see vent, bent and heaven sent / consumer/ bought a new buggy and its dangerous what to do please...... i have just read this log on watchdog so should i ask to reclaim postage or not? it might sound mean but it took me ages to save £90 for this pushchair and now will only get £70+ back? i would honestly like for it to not cost me £18.99 to send it back but if you read the post , i just wanna be rid of it. i have contacted consumer direct to ask if i can take this further i.e to trading standards so waiting for a reply. but in short this 3 wheel compact pushchair hits any sort of a bump on the pavement the front wheel just stops and the pushchair and you hurtle forwards, my son has nearly been face first on the ground 4 times out of the 3 days i've used it, got to the stage where i was scared to use it. (its now in box waiting to be returned to seller) even though i think its is britax's at fault, do you think i could still contact britax or should i wait for trading standards to get back to me. i have googled the britax verve reviews and especially on reviewcentre.com there is some shocking stories! anyway its a small price to pay for my sons safety but i'm on my high horse now and really do think this dangerous buggy should be discontinued!
i'm so sorry for the HUGE post but if i wasn't worried about others buying this death trap it wouldn't be this long! in short i would like this buggy discontinued or modified and will fight it, its that bad,
sorry fot the massive post again, but i don't want to lose out or anybody else fall for this buggy
