in Credit cards
Hello, I have only just joined this website and am new to credit cards, etc. so please forgive me for any mistakes or stupid things i may say. Site looks great and i have already learnt some things!
Anyway, i have just recently gone self employed and have heard that it is a nightmare to apply for credit/finance without 2-3 years accounts to show income. To add to my situation, i dont have much credit history. Although, i have never missed a payment for what is on there.
I was hoping to apply for a BarclayCard Initial, as it is ment to be good for building credit history, and it offered me the lowest APR on moneysupermarket.com. Do i stand a chance of being accepted?
Also will i be able to apply for in-store credit in my situation?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Pete

Hi Pete,
Welcome to MSE!
I put myself down as self employed (it's complicated!), and for credit cards it has not caused a problem. I would saying that building up a solid credit history would be more important.
By in store credit, do you mean a store card or finance for a larger item? xGone ... or have I?0 -
Wow, that was a quick reply!
Good news that it hasnt caused you a problem.
Sorry i ment finance for a large item, thinking of buying a new tv. If i do get accepted for the barclaycard then i might put it on there and repay within the 3 months 0% purchases. Do u think they will accept me then? Dont really want to get refused and damage my credit rating...0
