How long should I leave before applying?

I'm trying to balance transfer the amount on my M&S %More card (see sig)
I've applied for the goldfish & cap 1 platinum but been refused both within the last month. I want to try for the Virgin card but I'm unsure whether to apply now or wait a few weeks. The amount on my &more card is going up each month because of the interest.

General advice from other posts on the board seems to be that you'd need to wait a couple of months. Happy to hear of exceptions.

If your sig numbers are up to date then you look like you've left it to the last minute to arrange a transfer card?

Try the www.moneysupermarket.com Smart Search option, it might give you some indication of the cards you're likely to be successful with once the recent searches become less relevant.
