Uphill,
Each time I changed mortgage I had to confirm that I was not the person with the same name in another part of the country working at another job who had gone bankrupt.

I am nearly 18 months into an IVA and our payments are £277 a month with Blair Endersby(Baines and Ernst). We are struggling as we underestimated our cost of living and last month applied to have the figure reduced. They refused on the grounds that the school trip fees, cubs childrens parties etc... are luxuries and do not count. We are beggining to think that we have nothing to lose in going bankrupt. I do not have a mortgage, we own a car that is only worth £900 and a modest family PC that we use for the internet etc.. DO I have anything to lose? There is such a stigma assosciated with going bankrupt I am worried what it may mean. Will I still have to pay £277 a month, and if I want to get a mortgage in 3 years time will I be able to. And at this point, how would I do it. Does Blair Endersby as my insolvency practioner deal with the whole thing and will it cost me anything?0
