I've used this website several times because they're excellent for cheap b&bs and hotels in London. Booked one for the end of February, but last week they contacted me to say that hotel was being renovated so we were being moved to another hotel, which was fine. Then contacted me again today to say they'd had trouble with the original hotel who were demanding that all bookings not be moved, but cancelled.
Travelstay have refunded my deposit, credited my card with £20 for the inconvenience, and will pay the deposit on any new hotel booked. This without me asking for any form of recompense.
I was really impressed, with their correspondence, and how they kept me updated.

indeed. HostelBookers.com is massive, and doesn't charge booking fees either.0 -
There are so many online accommodation booking websites out there, the only thing they all have in common is, its easy to make the booking and charge your card, but when there's a problem, some of them, its hard to get in contact with customers services to help to solve the problem. Many of these websites don't even have telephone number for customers to call.
I have booked from a lot of these websites over the years, there are a few good ones, my favourite at the moment for budget accommodation is http://www.hostels247.com/ the last time i booked with them, I booked 2 studio accommodation in London for family friends, in a place called Accommodation London, around Kilburn and everything was great, the kitchenette was perfect, they were there for 2 weeks so they could cook their own food when ever they wanted.
The key to this is to make sure you can speak to someone if there's a problem0 -
We made a booking through this company with the request of two rooms. the company representative sent us options for this and we proceeded to make payment for these two rooms. £125 per room the fee came to £250.00
When our guests arrived at the hotel it became apparent that the bookingn was only for one room and written out as the below:
1 x Standard (Private Bathroom) - 5 person room
- 1 double & 3 single beds
Complaining that this was completely incorrect and not what we had ordered we said we wouldnt stay at the hotel although they decided to take our money anyway.
Complete bunch of crooks!!0
