Hotpoint Washer/Dryer Troubles

Options
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

I am so angry!

Need I say more?

Because of the terrible first year history I felt that I had no other option but to buy their extortionate extended warantee on 5th December, because otherwise I would have had to pay £90 per call out (so now I'd be down £180)

I'm so angry that Hotpoint have manufactured such a piece of junk and I'm pretty confused as to where I go next.

Obviously I feel that this item has not been 'fit for purpose' since the day that it was delivered, and quite frankly want it out of my house. Failing that, after this many repairs (a variety of faults) it would be nice of them to replace it with either an identical one, or any other washer dryer (I'm not after the latest top of the range - I really don't care).

Anyone have any ideas? I've had a quick look on trading standards website this afternoon -

Sale of Goods applies only to the seller? (Marshall Ward - they were the cheapest offering this model at the time, paid by debit card in full)

I *wish* I'd just rejected it in the first six months.... hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Is there anything I can do to get Hotpoint to do something other than keep repairing the blinkin thing? It's a pain in the bum having to either take time off work, or otherwise wait in every couple of months, and have the machine out of action til it's repaired. I still haven't caught up on the washing from last time it was broken!

NB - there's 2 adults and a toddler in the house, we probably use the machine 5 times a week if we're good (and keeping on top of it all) or otherwise twice a week.

Grrrrrrrrrrr - I could scream. I feel totally ripped off.

EDITED TO ADD: I did another 2 loads of washing after it was fixed.......... guess what..........

You should be chasing Marshall Ward, they sold it and so are responsible. They will no doubt try and fob you off saying it is down to HP and you are outside of your 1 yr guarantee, but you have longer then that to claim against them under the Sale of Goods Act.

Hindsight is indeed a wonderful thing.
I had a dishwasher break down after 2 weeks.
Phoned them up and was told they would send someone out to repair it, told them to send someone out with a brand new one and take the old one back, which they did.
