Is a garage conversion worth it?

Hi, we're thinking of converting our garage to add additional space to our kitchen and living room. I'd be grateful to hear of anyone's experiences/thoughts on this.
We're thinking of convereting half of our garage as we would like to leave some space at the front for storage, it wouldn't fit a car but who uses a garage for a car anyway? .
Here is what we would like to do (existing on the right, proposed on the left). be grateful for any thoughts.

We have converted about a third of our garage into a utility/loo room, For us in a town house with bathroom on top floor having a downstairs loo has been brilliant. It has also given us more room in the kitchen as the wash machine, tumble dryer and freezer as well as a wardrobe to house the hoovers, ironing etc are in there too. I think it,s worth it for quality of life, but have no idea if it adds value to the property.0

Hi - we've converted half our garage to make an eating area in our kitchen. The kitchen seems miles bigger now, and I'm really glad we did it - we've still got half the garage left for storage which is plenty, as with a full garage we just held on to a load more junk!
So yes, I would say it's definitely worth doing.0 -
Our garage was converted to be extra reception room at front and utility at back. well worth it. everyone just uses their garage for junk.
Good idea to have storage area though, as otherwise junk ends up in the house!!!0
