Hi again all!
I am asking for your advice and views yet again!
First of all, i have been told by Tax credit people that we have been overpayed by 5K! Even though we kept them upyo dat at all times and rang them several times telling them we thought we were getting too much! But they inssited it was right!
Anyway, we now have to pay our nursery fees of £564 per month because last year i earned £19792 and he earned £12500, so we really cant afford to pay them as we have mortgage, car etc etc, you know the usual.
I have therefore been looking into a lesser paid job, as it may be that we would bet better off, in more way than one.
Tha job i am considering is a branch manager of a card shop and pay £12500 and i find out if i have got the job by wednesday of next week!
So the ways i think we would be better off is,
1. I think we would have some nursey fees paid for us.
2. We would probably be entitiled to free nhs prescriptions etc.
3. I would probably enjoy the job much more.
4. I would have a day off in the week, meaning my 2 sons age 6 and 2 would benefit from having mummy at home once a week all for them! And have Daddy on saturdays.
5. I would be in a better mood as i hate my current job and get stressed!
6. Me and other half would probably appreciate the time we have together more as we would have less 'us' time.
So the big questions is, what should i do??? What would you do???
Do i stay where i am and earn more, or do i go to the other job and get paid a lot less but have less stress and probably be in the same financial boat?
Thanks in advance!
Love Feisty!

All I'd say is that it's a big pay cut for you, so if you think that you're going to get some nursery fees and other benefits paid for you make you that you are 100% certain of it before you make the leap.
Job satisfaction is obviously very important, and if you 'hate' your current job, then it's going to have an impact on your entire family. No job is worth making you unhappy when there are alternatives out there.
Personally, I'd look into it a bit more and discuss it thoroughly with my partner. Good luck with whatever you choose."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
You need to ask the tax credit folks for an appeal form. When you get the form you need to put on that you have phoned up on EVERY SINGLE occasion that your circumstances changed, add that you CONSTANTLY asked them to check that your award was correct and ask them to listen to your calls to verify that you DID phone.
I did this and they said that I didn't have to pay back the overpayment as it was clearly an error on their part.
Worth a try

my partner and myself recieved free prescriptions etc because we have one child ( aged 7) .
our combined salaries were £13,700. i think this year will will not be eligable because out eerning are now nearly £15,000.
please check your facts before you take a slightly lower paid job.Slimming world new starter 2/1/17

agree with all the above. I doubt you will get free perscriptions on your and OH income. Re-nursery fees check this as well as by putting child in for one day less may also reduce your help.
Did you keep any copies of correspondance from tax credit people that would help you with an appeal?0
