Switching Line Rental

Options
Hi All, quick info.

I have purchased my parents house, but because the hassle in transferring the line into my name would resort in me having to cancel and reinstate broadband I've left the line rental in my parents name for the time being. Having recently signed up to take Sky HD I needed to sign up for Sky talk also, this happened no bother and the calls have been transferred through my Sky account now.

Is it possible for me to now ring Sky and ask for them to take on my line rental too, even though the line isn't actually in my name... Am just curious because there was no problems from BT in them taking the calls over when they werent in my name either.

Thanks in advance

Skint, but I have a plan.... an MSE Plan!!!

DON'T let anyone else other than BT take your line rental! Just DON'T do it!

Only BT are forced to allow you cheap call access.

For example Call 18185 charges 3p/min weekends and 6p/min weekdays to UK mobiles, compare that to what Sky charge.

Your best bet is keep line rental with BT, use Sky and 18185 for calls, use Sky for the inclusive calls and 18185 for others, maybe BT for a couple of numbers (dial 1280 to place the call back over BT).

Never wise to move line rental away from BT.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

If you want to bar premium rate calls on SKY they will also bar Intl Calls as they claim it is not possible to restrict calls to one of these without restricting the other.

Thanks all, just wanted to double check, I was only thinking about changing to Sky Line Rental to get the bill in my own name (though I'm currently setup paying the bill by DDebit).. Plus I didnt want to have to cancel and setup my Sky Broadband again..

Does anyone know if having a phone bill in your own name improves/doesnt alter your credit rating?

    Makes very little difference.
