Carpet or Laminate in cold bedroom above garage?

DS2's bedroom is above the garage and is a cold room - presumably because it is above the garage.
It is due for redecoration and we want to refloor - would either carpet or laminate with good underlay add warmth to the room?
Any other ideas on adding warmth to the room? It is about 16 ft long and about 9ft wide.
Thanks.

we have a spare bedroom above the garage, and it has 3 outside walls.
we laid laminate and good underlay and the room has a large radiator. with a single DG window.
but its still a cold room even with cavity wall insulation! we either need another rad or maybe we should stud the walls and pack with more insulation.Get some gorm.0 -
for my money, i would remove either garage ceiling or bedroom floorboards and pack with insulation if not allready there.
then i would go the carpet route and fit thick underlay such as 11mm cloud nine cumulus, which, as far as my research went, had the best thermal insulation rating of any underlay. available on tinternet for approx £50 15sqm roll, which would do the job. Please note, we've had to remove your signature because it was sh*te!0
