hi there
we're planning to buy a house through barratt px scheme, but we got our house valued ourselves yesterday so that we had some understanding of what it was worth, and have found out this is around 15,000 less than we thought, this means we are around 15,000 short on the new house, do you think we would be able to get a discount on there property or are we likely to lose it? no one will discuss prices or discounts with us until they get there valuers in so we feel really left in limbo worring we are going to lose our dream house!!!

Common sense dictates sellers might accept a reduction, given the current poor market conditions. Keep in mind that a significant number of lenders have pulled back from new build property - with good reason. I would say you are very much calling the shots.0

You should definitely get at least 15% off any new build in the current market.poppy100

We are looking to buy another new build with a small local developer - not Barrat, Wimpey, Bellay, Persimmon ect
We are looking at 3-4 different small developments. From initial negotiations I will be lucky to get 5-10% off asking price ...... but I will go back once I have exchanged contracts as I will be in a better positions then
First incentives, have been carpets thrown in, but they are not interested really until I have exchanged!
Good Luck.0 -
