Take up floor boards, fill in and concrete over?

I had similar problems several years ago on an old property.
The house was around 70 years old.
The problem with us was that the joists had warped and the one nearest the wall had rotten away.
The drop we had underneath the boards was 28 inches.I simply bolted another joist to the wall after removing the rotten one and made good the level with ply.The other joists running in to the wall I packed with tiles.I still have visions of the tv cabinet door opening every time we walked passed it.
Not the best solution I know but it worked.0
