New Kitchen - Supplier?

  • Thanks everyone.

I had a quick look at the Ikea website and they have a kitchen I do like a lot - haven't seen the quality in the flesh but it looks very stylish on the website so I'll do a store visit to have a closer look.

Amandada - I was really interested to read your messages - when you say "Ikea fitters" do you mean Ikea actually have their own fitters or that you found a fitter who specialise in fitting Ikea kitchens? If you don't mind me asking whereabouts are you located - I'd be really happy if I could pay this sort of figure for the fittings and buy the units separately - think this would at least half the quotes I've had so far.

    Kind regards,

    Kind regards,

Ikea do have their own fitters, and by using them, you know you're going to get the cabinets assembled and installed to Ikea's spec.
They have also done a fair bit of other work for us, as we've knocked 2 rooms together to extend the kitchen, and we pay them seperately and directly for this.
I used the Edinburgh Ikea, and they've been second to none.
My dad is also having them instal a kitchen this week, having spent about 3 years researching almost every kitchen on the market so that says a lot to me!

There are 2 ways of going about planning the kitchen, you can either do it instore with one of their advisors, using measurements you've done yourself, or you can have one of their planners visit you at home and do it there. The 2nd option costs £50, but this is redeemed against the kitchen if you go ahead and order (whether or not you use their fitters) Incidentally, we were never charged the £50!
If you want to know more, just ask :)

    Kind regards,

I don't have an Ikea kitchen myself but if we were going for a complete re-fit I'd certainly get one. They are very good quality and very stylish. Ikea have lots of quirky extras too for drawers and cupboards etc.
