Does anyone know if there is a credit check done on you before you can rent a house?

Most landlords do. Most BTL mortgages insist landlords do.Does anyone know if there is a credit check done on you before you can rent a house?
Standard checks are no CCJs / bankruptcies
Plus affordability check the two main agencies use multiples on x24 and one x30 so monthly rent times multiple must be less than annual income (inc. child benefeit/tax credits)
so rent of £500 pcm you need to earn £12k or £15k dependent on agency.0
