I have had a bad moneysaving day because I left my lunch at home and had to go out and buy some! Very annoyed!
However, I am planning a tea made entirely of leftovers plus a can of tuna I bought in a bulk-buy special offer so maybe that will help.
I'm also upset with Pigsback, it's taking ages for my total to creep up! (Suppose it is money for nothing though so can't really complain)Debt at highest Nov '06 £17,822.98
Debt at LBM Nov '07 £14,231.63
DEBT FREE as of 01/01/09 now I have savings!!0 -
The machine will charge you a percentage for the transaction - I found out the hard way and had to make up the shortfall in the school's charity money out of my own pocket.
Your bank will do it for nothing if you give them the money in £1s or £5s as far as possible eg 100 x1p, 50 x 10pThats shocking! I never knew about that, so thank you for telling me!
Do you know how much of a percentage roughly?0 -

I got stung for 8% in Sainsburys
Some people claim it is worth it not to have to count 'all' that money. I say 'every penny counts!'I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
if you get the bags from your bank the bags tell you how to divide up the money.
Some banks have rules about presenting bags of money (Nationwide limit it to 2 per day, unless you are a child or a charity) but all will get irritated if there are many errors in the bagging. (I've seen bags almost flung back at the customer  )0 -
can i ask what do u mean when u say your going to do clicks.

I think it's 7 or 8p per pound counted - guess to cover running costs & a nice profit for company that run it! It's a lot when u think how long it takes you to save those pennies.
I used to sneakily change it in vending machine - put coppers in, press refund, hey presto - silver coins! However can't do it anymore or at least not i've found as vending machines are all 'silver vend' now.
Can take to bank, tho they not keen if you do it all in one go! ;-)
Have you got a friendly shop, eg newsagent that needs small change? I befriended owner & they used to happily change coppers as long as it was bagged up in pound bundles and didn't take too much at once.
I find it very satisfying counting all those pennies!Who says I have to be normal?0 -
Afternoon guys
Today I:
* used my free bus pass to get to and from work
* am expecting my tesco delivery at any time now and have used a code for extra points :j
* checked quidco to check that my purchase has tracked... and it has! :j
* will cook a nice dinner using cupboard ingredients!
* will work out my budget for the month - won't be able to print it though - ink not arrived yet!
* was going to go out with friends and use some converted tesco deals to pay for the meal but my friend cancelled so I will save them for another time!
* will do some bill filing etc
:heartpuls CG :heartpulsEver wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0
