Best way to cut brick and stone

Options
I have a brick chimney in my living room which is no longer used. I don't want to get ride of it, but, at the bottom, there is an extra half brick that protrudes forward, and the whole thing rests on a couple of stone slabs - they look like patio slabs.
Is there a way I can cut or break the parts that stick out so that I can get rid of them, and get a bit more space in my room?

Thanks,
:)

  • To cut in a straight line you need an an angle grinder with a diamond blade - for gen removal of brick and stone you need a cold chisel and a lump hammer.

Hire the angle grinder (or buy a cheap one) and buy the rest from your local DIY store.
