How much would it cost to hang to internal doors? Sorry if this is in the wrong bit but I haven't done this before. Need a quote soon though.

Hi Angel,
Welcome to mse
I have separated your original post and given it it's own thread so that you may get more responses.
It might help if you could give us more details of the work that you need done then anyone who responds will be able to give you a more accurate reply.

not sure if this helps but we have been quoted £120 per day for a carpenter to hang our doors. He rekons he can do the bathroom door, a firedoor from hallway into the garage and double french doors into the lounge including 2 side lights (demi-panels)

Ooh, £20 & £30 per door, where do you live? I think I'll move there! I live in London & paid £85 per door to have 2 doors changed over so they fitted on the right hand side of the frames instead of the left. This was a qualified carpenter & I did get another quote for £75 per door from a mutli-tradesman, so it obviously is the going rate for the area. The average daily rate for a carpenter here is between £200-£250 per day now.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Thats more like it. I could almost do it myself but the place for the hinges needs moved a little plus I'm not strong enough to hold the doors up. Scotland is usually cheaper thank goodness.0

I've got the same problem as you Angel! I got a couple of doors out of the local freebie paper a while back to replace two that had got damaged, and I need to find someone to re-hang them before I move out soon! They're exactly the right size, and I had hoped to try and do it myself, but the hinges are slightly out of line so need to be moved and cut in again.
I don't know whether I'm better off ringing someone in the yellow pages though, or risk asking my landlord to do it and hope he doesn't knock off too much from my deposit! (he's in the building trade so could do it himself)
What could I reasonably expect to pay to have this job done? All the other door furniture is already fitted, so it's just a case of moving the hinges and hanging them!"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

If the linings are straight can hang around 5 (sometimes 6+) doors a day with furniture. If its less than a days work normally charge 60 quid a door or more if a nice car is parked on the driveway.0

More fool those that pay that much LOL!
At least we know how some workmen price their jobs now, on the basis of what car you have in the drive "An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"
