help!!
i replastered some of my bathroom today, went really smoothly, really pleased. but as it is drying it is cracking. i have got the window open, no moisture, no forced heat. it is however on old plaster, but it was too much of a job to strip all the way back.
i was planning to tile over it, but now i'm worried about the stability...
any ideas?

Did you wet the old plaster 1st?
If you are tiling over it, it doesn't realy matter about a few cracks, as long as it is sound.A thankyou is payment enough .0 -
i didn't think to wet the old one first - is it too late to add extra water now, to stop it getting worse? - maybe painting a coat of water over the plaster before it dries out completely?Ok, ok, i need to go back onto Weightwatchers, lost 7 stone..... 2 back on, this has to change.....Help!!!:eek:0

before doing any plastering over existing plaster you should have put on a coat of pva adhesive to kill any suction, so that the old plaster does not suck the water out of the new plaster and it dries out too quick, as it has done in your case. i don't think now painting it with water will help and when it dries fully it may fall off. i don't want to be the bearer of bad news but if you are tiling over it make sure the plaster is sound or you would be wasting your time.0
