I notice theres now a £1 charge everytime you purchase abroad on top of the 2.75% ....
Transactions abroad and in currencies other than sterling
Cash withdrawals and purchases
We convert the amount to sterling using our exchange rate on the date we take the money from your account. We also include a conversion fee of 2.75%.
Purchases abroad and in currency other than sterling
When making purchases (not cash withdrawals) abroad or in a currency other than sterling the transaction is also subject to:
£1 overseas transaction fee on purchases abroad. This also applies to Internet and home shopping transactions that are made in the UK in currencies other than sterling.

That's very poor wording. They are also cunningly capturing Dynamic Currency Conversion (scam conversion into sterling by overseas suppliers) transactions under this which means you get charged left, right and centre.0

I think this is for Debit Cards rather than Credit Cards.0 -
I think there is no big difference between paying 2.75% to Lloyds TSB for currency conversion or 3% to a local bank.MarkyMarkD wrote:That's very poor wording.
