Hello,
Just over a week ago i bought a britax verve brand new from ebay (its a compact 3wheeler a bit like the quinny zapp), i received it 6 days ago.
I would like to ask if anyone knows where the law stands on dangerous pushchairs? the thing is, it is really dangerous on just about anything other than flat ground! the front wheel just stops dead and the pushchair and your self are thrown forwards, resulting in my 2 year old face first inches from the ground, luckily i managed to pull him back or he would have been face first ON the ground. I have emailed britax and complained about this(not heard back yet), but since then it has happened another 3 times , i really am scared to push the thing now and have lost all confidence in it (its back in its box)
So...what i'd like to ask is where do i stand on this, could i ask for a refund directly from britax as to me this pushchair should come with warnings 'only suitable on totally flat surfaces' as i'm pretty certain i can't get back intouch with the seller as the pushchair is fine, apart from the design flaw!! Not really sure what to do and if at all i can do anything?
Any help on this would be great please?
Thank you,
michelle.

Hi
My sister had this sort of trouble with a pushchair...not this brand. She went to Trading Standards...just the mention of Trading Standards might make the company set up and think. Good Luck:money:0 -
Contact the seller on ebay and ask if they can do anything after all the pushchair is highly dangerous. If you dont get a suitable reply as in "we will send out a new one", then perpare to use PayPal.0

Hiya, i have been intouch with consumer direct and the seller. CD have said it is not fit for purpose and has safety issues so if i can't come to a conclusion with the seller they are more than happy to pass it to trading standards. So i just have to wait and see what the seller says after contacting britax.0

Hi V_tricky, That is great, thanks for that!! going to read it through properly now.0

Its down to the Ebay seller to give you a refund nothing to do with Britax
Just by looking at the picture of it tells me its not suitable for uneven ground etc.0 -
I bought this buggy a couple of weeks ago from Argos and have exactly the same problem. If you hit the slightest bump in the pavement the buggy throws my wee one forward. I am terrified of hurting his neck. I think I'll contact Britax aswell but I intend to take the buggy back to Argos anyway. They took my signature away!!!!0

Just get a traditional 4 wheel buggy , none of these trendy lookin ones and you will be fine, our Maclaren Quest will go anywhere without problems0

Its about how its been designed and if it is functional.
If it is truly only suitable for flat level ground the company should state that clearly on the box or leaflet, and really, unless you LIVE in a shopping centre, or just use it indoors, where can the average person go out and about without encountering some uneveness??
It looks like the company should have done a few more test drives and modified the front part of the pushchair before going into production to me.
Product recall....very costly for a company, they will just be crossing their fingers!0 -
Looks to me like it would topple over quite easily.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670
