Hi,
I have been told that i have been accepted for the above account today, which is great news (if it all goes to plan (just being a bit sceptical)) I wanted to know a couple of things though:
1) Has a credit check already been done? (have had an email today saying my application has been sucessful, but cant offer me an overdraft)
2) They have said that they will send me a form to sign. Does that mean that all checks have been done and just have to sign it and send it back? Or do i need to take ID etc somewhere etc etc.
3) What type of debit card comes with this account?
Could my application still be declined?
Apparently it had to go to the underwriters whatever that means?!
I dont have a great credit history, but that is in the past and am trying to rebuild now.
Thanks for your help in advance.

1. Yes.
2. They're sending you the agreement to sign and return. On receipt, they'll formally open the account and you'll be bombarded with paperwork for the next 2-3 weeks. If they want(ed) to see ID the letter will state so.
3. Mine was Visa Debit, ATM, and £100 cheque guarantee. That's not to say you'll get the same.
4. Wouldn't have thought so.
5. You were referred to an underwriter because you were 'borderline' acceptance, based on their credit scoring criteria.0 -
1) If your application has been approved then I would say that the credit check has been done (especially as they arent offering you an overdraft).
2) From memory, I think A&L does all the validation online so you shouldnt need to send any ID but that may have changed recently.
3) Its a Visa debit card.
It probably had to go to the underwriters for a second level of approval if your credit history isnt that great but if they have offered you an account then its fine. All you need to do is remember to feed it £500 a month as per the t&c.0 -
Thats great. Thanks for all your help. Sounds good so far but i shall keep my fingers crossed.0

Hi,
As per my original post, you will see that i have been told that i have been accepted for the Premier Direct Current Account. I was under the impression that i had to wait for a form to sign, and send it back. But today i have spoken to someone at A&L (as i still havent had anything from them at all) and she said that as i applied on the internet and ticked the box saying that i accept their t&c's then i dont need to sign anything, and my card and welcome pack will be with me shortly?!
Is that right? Or am i being fobbed off?
I applied on Sunday, and got an email confirming my acceptance on Monday. Any idea on how long i should wait and before i should expect something from them?
Thanks0 -

Hi,
If anyone is interested then i got details today of my account number and sortcode etc, and telephone banking etc etc.
All seems to be going ahead. Am in complete shock that i got a full blown current account, as i have only been able to get basic accounts until now!0 -
Does anybody know the interest rate for associated plusavers opened pre January? Website only seems to mention ones with bonus opened post January.0
