If you have the full Photoshop all the better! Elements offers a cut down version of the functions, for non-pro users, but it's more than up to the task of photo-retouching. It's a bargain if you need Photoshop but can't afford hundreds for the full CS3 version.

I only recommended Elements as it's cheaper than the full version by £100s.

Just reread what I have posted and have mislead you somewhat - apologies. My version of Photoshop not the full one and I need to upgrade to Elements.

Anyway, thanks for the help and much appreciated.

    Again thanks.

Plustek scanner now ordered from Amazon with free delivery and ScanVue paid for and downloaded. Now ready to go. Next project is to go wireless and then buy a subsiduary laptop as DH totally hogs the pc! We got a Dell 3 years ago and have been really pleased with it. DD has a Dell Inspiron (sp?) and think about the same for me! Any thoughts?

However, will need to wait for funds. Doing up kitchen just now so can't overspend at the moment. These will be toys for girls!

Hi, I have the Plustek scanner (got it a couple of years ago) it's a great piece of kit with some EXCELLENT scanning software called Silverfast which alone cost 60 quid! I recommend scanning at 3600dpi and take the time to learn the various settings in Silverfast as this can dramatically improve your scan quality - it's much better to sort this out at source rather than trying later in a paintshop program. The only thing is that you will soon get hooked and it can take over half an hour per image to get things set just the way you want them (setting whites, blacks and mid-tone grays) but the end result is really worth it.
