my daughter is soon to be 16 ,she gets high rate DLA care and mobility component as she is profoundly disabled...she will stay on a school till she is 19. i understand from other parents in my situation that i can claim IB for 'E' when she turns 16 next month, but will this affect the child tax credits that we get for her....i presume i would have to stop claiming Family Allowance for her....any ideas on what she should be getting...if i claim IB for her will she still get free prescriptions etc...

I'm not sure if there are different IB rules for young people, I have an inkling that there might be. Generally unless you have worked in the previous 2yrs you cannot claim IB & need to claim income support for incapacity instead. IB alas does not entitle people to free prescriptions etc, whereas income support does. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
