Hi there, I'm looking for a Nintendo DS lite and on ebay they often have what appears to be good prices on console bundles from USA/Hong Kong/China.
Are they worth buying, and are the games compatible with UK bought consoles and ok if I wanted to buy new games here?
Any help much appreciated. Thanks

Buy the consoles here, Argos are usually the cheapest. Buy the games online for best value IMO.
If you buy a DS from overseas and it's broken, then what? With Argos you walk straight back in.0 -
I think that DSs are region free so they should work OK. However I wouldn't buy one from overseas/ebay just in case there was a problem with it......0

They are region free in so far as a US gaem will work on a UK console etc. However if you try to do link up play between a US game and a UK game it will not work. So if linking up with other people is important ot you buy UK gaems, otherwise save cash and buy US ones. I wouldn't bother with ebay though, for US games I always use https://www.movietyme.com.It's my problem, it's my problem

I would dissagree with this in respect of multilayer games they are in deed world wide . on occasions i've played mariokart at 3 am , the thing is if you buy from the uk you get a warrenty and from the far east say from ebay the risk of a knock off. This happened to us oce ad ended u with a swaering pokemonBillScarab wrote: »They are region free in so far as a US gaem will work on a UK console etc. However if you try to do link up play between a US game and a UK game it will not work. How were you playing Mario Kart, over the net? We were tyring to use two DS lites in the same room, one with with a US New Super Mario Brothers and one with the UK edition. No way would they talk to each other.
Mind you this thread on avforums suggests it depends on the game. Mariokart seems to work for instance but Nintendogs doesn't and im my experience NSMB doesn't.
