All phones are unlockable, if a code isn't available for it, after 3 months Orange will give the code for £20.00

sorry, i'm not sure if we've established yet - is the phone reconditioned? :rotfl:

all phones are unlockable but i would check the small print to see if this would invalidate your warranty

I have had this phone for neqarly a year and it is the WORST phone I have ever had.

It looks great but for usability it is rubbish.

Could you give some details, I was about to get one on these on contract. The only reason I was going to get it was because it is small and looks nice but if it is a pig then maybe I better think again. I should add that all I do is use a phone as a phone, I don't use the mp3 or camera features so if they are the bad bits that probably won't bother me. thanks.

touch screen very annoying to use.

very easy to call someone by mistake when they have sent you a txt

    short battery life

mine keeps dropping signal (that may just be my phone)

I need a new phone. I'm tempted to order one of these but reviews don't seem that positive.

How does it compare to other phones at this price range ? What would people recommend as an alternative at a similar price ?

the phone can be unlocked for free with the supplied usb and some software more info can be found here

I got the U600 as upgrade last year, had the D600 and was going to go for the next model up to that (can't think what it was now) but hubby told me to go for this one as it's more modern!, anyway in respect to your points:

I have a text friend - not someone I have ever met irl but have known for sometime and the phone is always dialing her number when I get a text from her

    the touch screen also freezes

connects to the web easily (couple of bills ago mine was almost £60 where it had connected to web and I didn't know)

Personally, I wish I had stuck to being old-fashioned and got the phone I originally wanted, am a huge lover of Samsung and will change it for another samsung at end of this contract but not an updated version of the U600
  • Thanks, think I will steer clear. Shame, it is one of the nicest looking phones I have ever seen!
