Hi everyone booked this to clean our house. This is our 1st time so would love to know any tips/hints. My first tip(given by a freind) "add a little disinfectant to the solution"....thanks.

We booked a rug doctor before Christmas and were quite impressed with the results - this was using only the supplied detergent. I didn't think about adding anything else to the mix as the carpets & rugs looked amazing afterwards (like the TV ads
).

Wear shorts and a vest top, you will get very hot:rotfl: Also, if you have to clean near any hard floors, keep some old towels to dry the floor, we have laminate and when I cleaned my suite the floor got VERY wet.;)
They are well worth the effort though;)0 -
I hired the Rug Doctor before christmas.
What a nightmare it was. Never ever again. Id rather just pay the £130 and get the whole house done professionally.
It took me all day, and it was back breaking stuff. Even though I am only 5ft 2, the handle for pulling it was too low, and I hurt my neck pulling the thing backwards. So not only did I have a sore neck, but a bad back to boot, and trapped my sciatic nerve (and im only 23!).
The whole thing was just too awkward and too bulky.
And the results were crap too. Having had it done professionally, I was expecting it to come up to a similar standard. It didn't. Infact, nowhere near it. My carpets looked new when it was done professionally. They looked pretty much the same after I had cleaned them with the Rug Doctor as they did before I cleaned them! The only good thing was the solution to put into it - I use the left over for cleaning up when my cats have 'missed' the litter tray  and that does a good job of getting marks and stains up.
I wouldn't recommend it at all.0 -
being a bit ?? here
Rug Docter, is this the one that B&Q hires out
is the cleaning solution included and because it is hard work is it worth the extra to have 48hour hire ?
and more importantly does it make your carpets dirtier again quicker once you have used something like this
I used to hire something from my local hire centre but they have now closed , it was very good but the carpets seemed to get dirtier quicker as they did when I had a Vax years ago .......... I dont mind hard work but like to see the results last longer than I got with either of the two I have used and thought the B&Q one if it is the Rug Docter looked more professional0 -
thanks guys!!0
