My problem is i had to claim for a sofa on my household insurance ( with Tesco) it is part of a suite. Working in household claims.....
Basically we can decline the cost of any matching items, in fact we have to, it is in your policy booklet in Black and white.
You can take it to the Ombudsman, sometimes they will rule in your favour, but the max you would ever get would be 50%, no more. Hope this helps
