can't thank people, or make paragraphs!

Any help would be appreciated.My PC died a few weeks ago (blue screen of death, unable to start up with WindowsXP disc, son had to start it up with Linux first. Windows is on and the computer is running great now).My only problem is when posting on here. I can't thank anyone, and when I type in paragraphs and then submit my post, when it appears there are no paragraphs! I've typed this post and there are 5 paragraphs, but I bet anything that once I submit my post it'll all be one single paragraph! Ooh, just tried to post a smiley too - they're not coming up either. I know it's not a big thing but it's annoying. Posts are so much easier to read if they're spaced out!!

Delete all your browser cache, cookies and stored personal info from the browser tools menu, then try again...

Try putting <p> at the end of each line.. This denotes paragraph in HTML coding.

Thanks. Do I go to Tools, and then Internet Options? If so, i've deleted cookies and temporary internet files. Not sure what else to do though.There shouldn't be much stuff to delete as it was only fixed 2-3 days ago - and I lost everything, so it's a clean slate really.

Hmm, that's working. How do I put a space between the lines though?
When i'm typing this there are several lines between paragraphs.
