I know from experience when there was a large explosion near us a few years back (accidental) mobile system went straight down partly demand and partly emergency services needed the "air space" (so don't know the technical term but apparently they can pull a mobile phone system eg vodaphone of line somehow to free up for their transmissions) so don't worry if you can't get hold of anyone on their mobile

And if you're stuck somewhere in London and can't get hold of relatives (I know from experience how long the queues for the phone can be and then when it's your turn no one answers or they're engaged) PM me and I'll do whatever I can to help

Texts are not delivering for me at the moment but I guess they will arrive eventually.

    From the BBC website:

"The police will be issuing a telephone number shortly for worried relatives."

If anyone needs me to phone or text their relatives, I'd be glad to help, just PM me. Don't know if this will help at all but it can't hurt!

I'm within 2 miles of the city and Orange, TMobile and Virgin networks now working, they were not earlier. Internet was also down for a while earlier. Now steady again.

Am also being told from friends in the affected areas that the mobile networks are being re-instated, persumably as the police complete their searches for explosive devises. Service appears to be intermittant, I imagine the emergency services are rightly being given priority. I can offer phone services if it will help anyone, please PM details to me.

Things are much calmer now and the sirens are back to normal levels.

Commercial aircraft are back on their normal approach to Heathrow. I think City of London Airport may be operating again but cloud is to thick for visual confirmation, if anyone really needs that info please let me know.

Traffic out of London (northbound) looks like it is steadily increasing which may hopefully mean people are now being allowed to leave their offices.

    Hugs to all affected.
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

Other cities in europe and the G8 cities are all on high alert and as far as I know all transport into transport has been temporarily stopped. There are no overground trains coming into london and I know victoria station is closed.

Other stations are temporarily closing while security checks are carried out.

BTP Casualty tel no. 0208 358 0101 for enquiries.

"A previously unknown group calling itself "Secret Organisation al Qaeda in Europe" said it carried out the attacks as revenge for British "military massacres" in Iraq and Afghanistan."

This was mentioned midday and the experts say it is a relatively small organisation and too early to take as true as there will be many claims to this effect!
I am in constant mobile contact with my sister who is in centre of London helping out as part of her job. I'm O2, shes vodaphone, have had no problems.
