My avg came up with a message warning me it found a Trojan a couple of days ago and I'm assuming it was erased. I ran spyware immediately just in case and thought it was OK. However, someone told me their anti-virus wouldn't let them open my email message.
How can I check if it's still there?

best thing to do is to check your vault/logs depending on your AV client. Make sure that your AV is upto date and scan all hard drives and memory to make sure it has been cleaned. If your AV spotted it then it should of removed or quarantined it. Try sending an email to yourself if you have an alternative email account to see if it opens and if not see what the reason is.
