hi,
first of all sorry for posting two new threads in as many hours but i am trying to sort a lot of stuff out tonight!!
anyway, i realise this may have a slightly subjective answer, but i am looking for a plumber's opinion. if you are quoting on a job (a loft extension) to do the first fix plumbing for a bath and shower, a new toilet, basin and three or four radiators, i know that first fix is basically all the new pipwork run and put together for supply and waste, and then second fix is connecting all the new sanitaryware up to the new pipework etc.
my question is, when is the new waste pipework connected up to the existing soil stack etc? is that usually first fix or second fix?
obviously i will discuss all this with the plumber but he is away at the moment and just want to try and be aware of exactly what i am talking about
thanks agan

if it was new build, it would be classed as 1st fix.
If you plumber is doing the 2nd fix also, it will be his choice if he connects to the soil 1st or 2nd as long as it doesn't interfer with other trades.
And also the time of the day;)0
