Can I burn dual-layer DVDs (DVD-9s) in same way as single-layers (DVD-5s)?

Options
Hi,

I want to make a copy of a film (including the extras) which is too big to fit on a standard DVD+/-R (single-layer; DVD-5).

DVD Shrink 3.2 indicates the complete DVD (without any compression) is 7,600 MB and the film, itself, is 6,300 MB and compressing them to fit on a single-layer disc (4,300 MB) would degrade the picture too much.

Can I burn DVD+/-DLs (DVD-9s) in the same way as I've burned DVD+/-Rs - with DVD Shrink 3.2 and DVD Decrypter and Nero, etc. - or do I need to burn dual-layer discs in a different way?

Between DVD-DLs and DVD+DLs, which would anyone recommend?

Thanks.

They'll work fine. I'd use ImgBurn these days though, instead of DVD Decrypter.

+ or - is pretty much down to the kit you want to eventually play it on. Most things these days will have no problem with either. I buy whatever's cheapest, from a decent manufacturer with decent dye.
They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it
