Just A bit of Fun for Sunday Night

Considering the latest doom and gloom about the housing market, economy etc I began to wonder
"Would now be a good time to get a shared appreciation mortgage? Must be better paying no interest seeing as all these people are telling me house prices are about to tank in a big way."
"Should mortgage advisers be reccomending SAMs instead of traditional mortgages etc? Am I going to face mis-selling claims if I don't reccomend them?"
"Will all those people with SAMs now be better off in 5 years time and be patting themselves on the back for their foresight at having taking one out in 1999?"
"Where do I get one from?"
I know I'm being a little fatuous, being there is a semi-serious point there.
What other financial products that are currently out of fashion/outdated and classed as rip off will look more attractive in the years to come if the economic climate changes significantly?
I'm also guessing that if economic armagaedon does arrive Mortgage Payment Protection will be something we see posters telling eachother off for not having.
