I am working on a second page which will give my own personal experience of the tax credits and why I have taken this course of action. My own story is echoed by thousands (possibly millions) and has caused myself and my children so much distress and hardship that I felt compelled to take this course of action.

We hear so many individual horror stories on forums, on the news and in the press but we all need one voice to speak through. I hope this is what we accomplish through the site.

The email is on my own thread on this forum (apologies)!! It will also be included in the second page. The site went live last Friday at 5pm as it came out in the paper. The first page is obviousley the most important but I agree that people need to know who and why this site is there...and possibly it will encourage people to speak out! I am hoping to have the second page live by 12pm tomorrow.

Most of the signatories from Scotland know my story throught the press but the second page will hopefully help obtain the signatures of those who may feel apprehensive.

    Thanks again for your comments.

just to say Ive sent the following email to michael fallon in the hope that he may be able to do something about it
    Dear Mr Fallon

I was warmed to see your appearance on TV this mornings "dont get done, get Dom" on BBC1.
I have been following the WFTC difficulties with some interest. i worked as a children & families assistant social worker and I encouraged my clients to take advantage of the WFTC and to encourage them into job-seeking, Im proud to say with significant success. However, I know that they had a great deal of problems with WFTC, and since leaving that job It is an issue I have followed with great interest. I do believe that if the scheme works it is worth keeping, I found that many of my clients found great satisfaction from being employed, contributing to society and of course leading lifestyles where they can show their children that employment is normal and achievable.
I appreciate you are very busy, but if you could take the time to read this excerpt from the Moneysavingexpert.com website, you will see that overpayment of WFTC is something which is causing a great deal of distress to many of our members. I appreciate that you are working on the issue, but it feels as if many people are simply not being heard and their distress is going unnoted. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=70872

thank you for taking time to read this email. I hope that you will be able to use your considerable leverage & influence to improve the situation for so many low income families.

    Yours faithfully

    Lynz

it is worth it to keep appealing get a copy of phone conversations etc, they won't listen to phone conversations(well they didn't mine)untill the complaints team have took it on.they said my husbands income was missing on the forms but it wasn't they are using excuses, you can clearly here me reading out to the lady on the phone the figures that are on the form that were correct.

this form was the first of the overpayments and on the phone she is telling me that the award i have got is incorrect(yes i told you doh))she then goes on and tells me a diff award which is higher than the 1 i had in my hand!!!!!!!!! she told me that was correct and i would recieve the forms in a few day's(this was 2 years ago)

i then rang back in the afternoon as i wasn't happy and the gentleman i spoke 2 could see what had happened but couldn't tell me why the lady told me my award was going to be higher.so he puts urgent notice on the screen and sends it through to be looked at explaining i had wrang up to say the award was incorrect and for them to look at it again.
he explained that the computer hadn't tappered down the award on the tax credits.
he told me it would take a few weeks but would get a new award through.
low and behold 3 weeks later we did get a new award THE SAME giving us the overpayments and saying it was correct...........

we are now hoping they will stop collecting these overpayments after finaly listening to the phone calls as the complaints dept have asked them to do(they didnt before even though i had stressed it to them).

just to follow up on this after going through the complaints team and my mp we have finally won our case they have admitted we dont have to pay these back. They have now listened to the tapes(which in my oppinion they didnt before).

the repayments that we have made apparently we can claim back but we have to write to head office(so i was told by helpline) so i will be doing this.
it has taken over 18 months and a lot of stress but we got there

to all others still fighting don't give up

After being told 10 days ago that my CTC should be in my bank in 7-10 days (this being close to 7 weeks after I was told that it would be within 30 days) I phoned the helpline today to ask about it again, and was told that my tax credit had been cancelled (because they allegedly didn't receive my return form) and I'll have to claim all over again! When I protested that I've been told for the last several weeks that my CTC award had been made and was in the system, and resumption of payments was imminent, I was told that I'd been given the wrong information on each of the numerous previous occasions I've phoned about it and been told to expect it soon.
The school Summer holidays have just started up here in Scotland, and I'm going to be skint for probably the whole holidays. Words can't express how livid I am right now.

Just got our overpayment notice today. I'm disabled, got a working partner & have 4 children, 2 of whom are disabled. Got letter couple of weeks ago asking for comfirmation that the 2 children are severly disabled (High rate DLA), wrote back saying that they are not classed as severley disabled as the only get middle rate DLA. Today received notice of overpayment of...........£12,636.30. They're clawing back £623.36 from this years claim by dropping weekly payments of £255.00 to £51.87, but as yet have not told me how they intend to claw back the remaining amount. On our original application form, we stated that the 2 kids are on middle rate DLA & wrote down the DLA reference numbers, we just didn't read the award notice carefully enough when it arrived, as it does list them as severley disabled.
